EIGHT

2015

Winner of the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe First Award and the Carol Tambor ‘Best of Edinburgh’ Award, Ella Hickson's play Eight comprises eight monologues offering a portrait of a generation defined by apathy amongst a consumerist boom.

Ranging in ages from seventeen to early thirties, the characters include Miles, a survivor of the 7/7 London Tube bombings; Bobby, a Scottish mother desperately trying to give her children a magical Christmas; Millie, a conservative sex worker mourning the loss of the British class system; and André, a gallery owner whose boyfriend has just hung himself with an Hermès scarf.

New England premiere, produced with the Boston Teen Acting Troupe. Performances at OBERON at the American Repertory Theater, Cambridge, MA.
