A photo-performance series queering and racializing the legacy of white supremacy in the US.


Inspired by the work of La Pocha Nostra, three collaborators—Irisdelia Garcia, Olivia Hall, and Garrett Sager—held a photo jam session with1950s party dresses, a flat cap, denim overalls, fake mustaches, a fur coat, a wicker basket, a silver tray, a bottle of milk, and an elephant mask.

With Olivia behind the camera, Irisdelia and Garrett embodied and remixed tropes like the neighborhood milkman and the June Cleaver housewife, and brought the GOP’s elephant to ridiculous life.

A companion work-in-progress live installation to the photo series was presented in December 2017, with Irisdelia as “the milkman” and Garrett as “the elephant in red.”
